I agree with Mick, touch nothing and get the gear setup then do a basic voice recording. I am going to loot at the Adam site and see if I can download the user manual. I shall be very surprised if there is no information about speaker positioning and basic room treatment.
You can draw out a plan of your room with dimensions and smudge it with your phone and attach it, no matter how crude it will give us some idea.
And yes...DON'T buy any kind of sound treatment material yet.
