Ableton Registers Sound From Mic But Will Not Record Anything

I just bought an Alesis iO2 interface and when I hook up my mic to it and then to my computer and bring up Ableton I can hear myself and the audio is recognized no problem, but Ableton will not record any of the sound coming from the mic. I'm assuming I have it hooked up correctly because everything registers fine in Audacity, so I think its just an Ableton problem. Has anyone else had this issue?
 
have you made sure that the correct driver is selected in preferences, I think it should be ASIO and then choose the interface. This then arm a track and you should be fine. Maybe the reason why this didnt happen with audacity is because it automatically selected the interface

Can we have a screen shot of when youre trying to record?
Maybe we'll be ableto (get it? ableto? instead of ableton? :laughings:) see a basic arm function or something else not selected.
If you can monitor, I believe you should be able to record.
