Wolf's Skin - Alternative Rock Song

Hi all,

Wrote and recorded this song over the past weekend. The song name deliberately does not match the chorus text - I thought it was a different touch. Feedback on the mix is most welcome:

WOLF’S SKIN
(Words by Jonathan Linton, Music by Jonathan Linton)

I should have known by the way you talk
It was too good to be true
Should have noticed when you hit the catwalk
We saw the real you
Smoke and mirrors
Fake figures
Give a great illusion
Your money givers
Give me shivers
Of unholy collusion

Silly me, you fooled me again
We take another hit to the chin
It’s all the same, not if but when
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin

I should have known by the way you look
It was too good to be true
Paid silence, but you’re not the crook
Didn’t see, didn’t do
Fox’ll give you
Bias review
To keep the great illusion
The right people
Mentally feeble
Propagate your delusion

Silly me, you fooled me again
We take another hit to the chin
You’re all the same, not if but when
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin…………

SOLO

I should have known by the friends that you keep
It was too good to be true
Glimse of what lies under the sheep
Has now come into view
Do you remember?
You were a member
Of the opposition
Cause there’s no spine
You changed you mind
To pollster your position

Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’…… in a sheep’s skin

Sounds great on these headphones. Mix is forward where it belongs. Good clarity, balance and separation on everything. Guitars and vocals are great. It's a coo, jam, nice job

The biggest thing I'm noticing is that the hats are very bright. They're cutting through the verses a lot, and then when you switch to ride in the chorus, the mix sounds much darker.

I'd darken (and turn down) the hats and brighten the vox primarily.

This sounds great. The 2-4 drum pattern sounds loud to me at times; agree with VHatSteve re: bright/salient 'hats.' Vocals sound top notch for the most part but at "sheep skin" there is some possible reduced intensity on sheep. Doesn't appear to be a range issues becuase skin is higher pitch and sounds fine. Excellent tune and playing; lyrics work really well.
