"the wild animals", 2nd mix

I think your bass tone suits the material and fits well with the guitars. I'm not hearing any deficiencies in the high end. Great job as usual on vocals. My only nit is the snare sound is a bit flat and plasticky. It's a cool tune, nice job

sounds great to me. I think once you tighten up the low end a bit more, the highs will fall into place.

hey musicgeekand lvr, i'm working on tightening that low end now, and also clearing out some blur on the rhythm guitars,
that is opening up the high end a bit without having to change/add anything.

thanks for listening and commenting,
i'll post an updated mix soon

Hey Jeff,

Haven't listened to a new Bats Brew tune in a while ... Fun song, with a touch of t-rex ...

I like the snare sound, IMO it's too forward and could use some taming
I'd hear the drums drier, reverbwise, but that's an opinion
I wish you'd post the lyrics, because they're terrific
The sound of the bass guitar is the best I've heard on a rock song in awhile

In the end, nothing to complain about, great guitar sounds!

lyric by request:

The Wild Animals

Just because they smile, and grease back their hair,
Doesn’t mean there’s any kind of heart in there
They’ll give you pellets of poison to put in your tea,
They say there’s nothing phucking wrong with me

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

It’s a kick back, kick YOU, nothing you can really do,
If you give em a chance, they’ll chase you into the
Afterlife too!

“lets book a trip to the Riviera, Sarah, bring the doctor along”
“nobody will miss us back home”,
When the sh!t goes wrong

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

It’s just the modern chemistry, the artistry of grabbing by the short hairs,
They stay awake at night, and they count their money til the
Morning light

It’s a cautionary tale… that we all can relate
It’s a taste of a real time devils delight
At the cocktail party, or the local church family affair
The poison pellets are playing truth or dare.

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

hi yellowdwarf!

thanks for coming back for a listen...
droppin' "T rex", whoa....
i mean, i guess he was never an influence, but damn, he's been there all along, in most of the stuff i like from that earlier time period...
everybody was influenced by the electric warrior.
cool.

lots of comments on the drums, as i expected, and most of them have sent me off in the right direction..
i've changed the entire kit a bit,
i'll post an update.
