Vocal test - opinions

While I've been playing around with vocals off and on for a few years now, I certainly don't claim to be a great (or even good) vocalist at all, but I'm looking for opinions on how the vocals in this track sound. This is my vocal rendition of "Missing You" by John Waite. Although I sing several styles, I like this song a lot and felt fairly comfortable with this one. Just so you know, this is a work in progress and vocals for the chorus are basically missing.

The vocals are really well recorded and the rest of the instruments also...but they don't strike my taste buds.
