About the Ampeg... it really does sound good, I just have a habit of EQ'ing it to death. I get a nice sounding tone then adjust it to smithereens until I'm boosting where I already cut. Kidding. But I need to get a good setting for it, which I've done before, and just save it along with my kick as a standard setup.
