a song that doesnt fit on the record?

What is your guys opition about having an album thats catagorized in a certain style and then having a couple songs that are 190 degrees on the other end of a genre. If you bought an album from an artist that did this, would you think its creative or would you have liked it better if all the songs were within the same style? I have a oddball song im working on that will not fit in the New Age- style that im shooting for.....

Can I assume that the style you are shooting for is the 'Current Project'? If so, I dont see this as to much of an issue. The two tunes are quite different in character but the dance tune is not the sort that jumps up and slaps you in the face, both tunes are have a fairly electronic sound more different sides of the same coin. I think this might work well as a sort of punctuation mark as long as the main style is dominant overall.
