Raindrops - Rate my Mixing

So awhile ago I posted a demo version of this song, I stretched it to 3.5 minutes in length. It needs some vocals and a real bass guitar (I used the bass patch on my keyboard and did every effect I could think of to make it sound more like a bass), but this is me playing every instrument. A rundown of what I did for those who are curious.

Drum Overheads: Dual Rode NT2-A's
Snare: SM57
Bass Drum: AKG D112

Guitar: Audix i5 on an old Music Man tube amp
Piano: Direct In from my keyboard
Organ: SM57 on a cheap Crate amp with my keyboard running through with mild distortion
"bass": DI from my keyboard

I will eventually record a bass guitar with direct in (maybe possibly an amp with my D112, though most likely DI because I prefer the sound), and vocals through my NT2-As.

The picked guitar on the left (the first thing to play) needs some 3k pulled out of it. the guitar on the left is also above the mix too much. Pulling some 3k will help, but the strummed is still up there too.
All in all the guitar on the left is too loud. Sounds like some of it needs retracked as well.

mabey a little verb on the picked guitar parts on the left would make it seem not soo on/off like it is in places, a bit abrupt if you know what I mean.

Anyway get that taken care of and I could comment on the rest of the mix. It's just too distracting.

If nothing else pull down the guitar parts on the left a good bit.

Sounds like there's cool stuff going on in there, just can't hear it under the guitar much.

there's only one guitar track, and it was done by me, and I've been playing less then a month, so that tells you about the quality of the playing ;)

You must have been playing that guitar everyday that month, because I know I it took me a lot longer to play anything as meaningful :):D.
The guitar is a bit loud, and like FS said, drop the 3K a bit to smooth out the tone.

The song itself is cool - kind of a progressive rock type tune.

The piano is well played, and since it sounds like your first instrument, I wondered if adding some tatsy little keyboard riffs more often might be cool - just a thought. (I liked the ones you have so far)..

It sounds like you are a multi-talented musician, so good on ya for putting your efforts together to get this song done.

:):D:):D

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, piano was my first instrument, but drums are my primary instrument, and the ones I'm best at.

What I'm considering is to track a ton of different guitar tracks, each with different tones, and try and find the one that fits best.
