Please guess my age when I made this tune! It would be interesting to know if I was talented for my age or if I was just average or below... (Now when I have fellow musicians to ask). So please be honest in your guessing. I composed, played and recorded everything myself in this tune. No midi, no editing or other tricks. You are also welcome to guess what it was recorded on if you like!

There's some hiss, but otherwise okay mix, with good use of R/L stereo spread, and compositionally really nice.

Okay,... 14 years old and the Commodore64.

Am I right? And, what do I win?

don't tell me you used a casio sk-1 on this, and its still in working condition.

if so, i'd like to buy it.

as for the age, i'll say somewhere from 12-14.
 
I'll say 16.
The tune is nice and mellow and relaxing.
I would throw some hiss reduction on it though
 
Ok, Here comes the answer:

I was 16 years old. (It was made in 1989).
The drums is a real drumset (Yamaha) recorded with a portable
stereo using it's internal mics. Then it was bounced between two
stereos while adding more "tracks". So I had made a special
y-cable for this. No mixer or anything or any means of
changing anything after it was recorded. So I just had to adjust
the output levels before playing. I used two Yamaha
portasound keyboards that I played on simultaneously (on
one with each hand) to create the stereo effects. The keyboards
have mono output so I recorded one in the left channel and one in
the right (hard panned). And as I played the same thing with both
hands, it sounds like stereo. Except for one thing that I played
so that it sounds like it jumps between the speakers all the time.
I borrowed all of the things (keyboards, drums etc) used except for
one stereo and the cables that was mine...

Qenn - I actually have a working Casio SK-1!!! Btw, you must have been a wonderkid if you could play drums like that when you were 12...
