"First Street"

Recorded 1999, on adat, mixed on cheesy PC speakers in adat edit.
Encoded to mp3

This had been poseted awhile back.

lyrics, for anyone interested

Its been a long long time
since I made a sound
and I know, in my soul
Its the same ole dusty town
as the one, that I left
so long ago
nothing ever changes, and everthing is still the same.

But what can you do
to help you make it through
is someone there for you

I thought I heard you once before
once along the way
but by now Im not so sure
what I heard you say

(middle16)

C'mon now, dont regret it
it had to be that way
or you wouldn't be here now
or who you are today
Dont be so hard on yourself
learn to let it go
dont back down now
you'll get by somehow

But what can you do
to help you make it through
whats there for you

I thought I knew you once before
somewhere sometime past
who can really say for sure
nothing ever lasts.

Its been a long long time
since I heard a sound
In these deserted streets
of this ole dusty town
nothing ever changes
everything is still the same
As I look down through the years
it all seems so strange

But what can you do
To help you make it through
What will become of you

I thought I saw you once before
lost and all alone
you couldn't know
there was a long hard road to come

Now I know who your voice reminds me of......

Slow Hand.....yup....

Good tune DW....
Vox is a bit weak in the mix..
guit solos could come up a bit too.....
Bass and drums sound real good...

C-ya,
Joe

Good tune. This from a guy who don't like country. There is a certain low fi quality to the overall sound.Almost like it was recorded live at some venue or another. Some of the vox gets garbled during the doubling, too. Some hissy stuff at the end ,too.Good mix, even with the low sound quality

Vocal sounds like early David Clayton Thomas.

A very nice piece of work........good sone...very good performances.....it sounds complete.......there's nothing missing and no empty spots....the sound is good too.

Very nice!

cool vibe, nice tune

I would liked to hear more of the piano

and I think the lead gtr may be a bit hot

good Allman Bros/ Clapton vibe

enjoyed

Yep-- I hear a Clapton feel--- I like it. Like the slight rust sound in the voc's. Meaning--- like that sound of alot of smokes and drink--
Great tune-- once again I like the Guitar work.
