These high school kids hat their sh33t together, i must say. they wanted a demo for an upcoming show, and they banged through 4 songs in 6 hours. (the other band i did barely got 2 songs down in 9 hours...) no frills--recorded in my spider and centipede infested basement. SM57 on guitar cab, at about 24", not doubled. Bass is direct. Drums, well, miced a li'l too close on the OH's, i can hear one cymbal oscillate when he hits it.

Whaddya think?

The lack of doubled guitars is definitely noticeable, but it gives it a bit of a punk/black metal vibe (although the music is more like radio rock/nu-metal with black metal vocals). Definitely works for a demo; can't really expect much more with the source material. These kids are definitely new to writing, but aren't nearly as terrible as they could've been. Try showing 'em this band and see what they think!
