nobody escapes the graveyard

Hi All: the trend with the blues based harmonica seems to be going to amplified, lots of notes, and fast. that is all good, but I thought I would throw these ideas out there for people to chew on. The simple, single note, done with some different phrasing can lead to all new sounds to my ears. IMO most people jump ahead of themselves too much and don't spend enough time developing each note enough. Personally I find the fast songs much easier to play. they are lots of fun, but I lose much of the sound of each note. On the slow stuff here, I can work each note from opening it, exploring it, to closing it. I recorded some fast ones too, but there a millions of that style out there. Anyway, here are a few from that session. I played the drums on my feet on the last one. It reminded me how much the drums and cymbal bleeds into the vocal/harp mic. These recordings were done with one LDC mic about a foot from the harp. Walter
