"My Heart Sinks" - comments welcome

    Hi all

I've been away for a while (real life, and all that) but now I've got a new song here:

    http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/...d=1715&alid=-1

It's called "My Heart Sinks" and it's about forgiveness, or the lack of it.

I would be very grateful for comments and suggestions on any and all aspects - songwriting, arranging, performance, engineering, mixing, "mastering", etc.

Please be frank - tell me what could be improved, and (ideally) how!

    Cheers

    AB

sounds very good alibish. can't think of anything on the first listen. sounds like a heavy dose of Ozone going on? if so, you're getting good value for the price. i could never figure that tool out.

on second listen that guitar that carries the melody starting at :23 is just a little loud. it's taking over the mix imo. that's really all i can come up with. sounds great.

Not much to say here, the mix is good and the song is a lot of fun.

    Good job.

    Thumbs up well

this is better than a lot of fun, this is one of the best songs Ive heard on the forum. Your accent is very unique for start but the production is top notch. The best part of the song is the Chorus because it is such a good hook. Very much like James I must say and thats good because they always have these catchy songs. Well done, 5 stars. This is really good work.

Great tune again Alibish. Haven't heard anything from you since "Excellent Girl" which i think is awesome. The instrumentation on this one gives me shades of the Cure, except for the vox which are all Alibish.

You have a very commercial radio friendly feel to your music too, which i hope you find encouraging if you're planning on taking it in that direction.

This song sounds finished to me, great job. I liked everything.

    Hey stranger

    Top-notch songwriting
The mix is fine by MY standards which are very low-fi
Your 'pop' sensibility is firmly carried on in this tune.
I'm sure you will get a chapter from StudioV on this one

    I LIKED it.
    Glad to see you back!

Nice song. Pretty chorus. Nice guitars. Nice melody.

Intro was a little "busy" - lots of things going on. It was tough to hear the "woo hoo hoo's."

Have you thought of double tracked vocals? At least in the chorus, I think that would sound nice. Harmonies in the chorus would be nice too.

A little pitchiness in the "woo hoo hoos". Check out 2:00. Other spots too I think.

    Nice

The woo's were lost in the opening, but no big deal. The singing and playing are top notch. The mix is very nice.

    Thumbs up

    Welcome back.

Nice mix from here. Cool song. That's some good brit pop. Total James type feel. Brings back memories of my high school/college days.

Nice acoustic guitar intro. Like the spread.

Like when the electrics kick in. I like that one kazoo sounding electric.

I like the vocal performance, especially from 2:00 or so on when you let loose.
