Making some demos...

Hi guys... I just started to record a couple of ideas with my brother...
This is my first attempt to record semi-serious drums...
I just put 3 mics on it and hit record (and add some compression)... Let me know what do you think... How can I improve the sound (besides bringing better drums to the studio)...

btw, excuse me for the VERRRY sloppy playing... I was just messing around. :o

More mics would be your first start. And that's definitely really compressed.

What's your current mic placement?

In fact, you ask us how to improve your sound... what's your equipment overall (besides drums since you said you don't feel like replacing that)
What kind of room are you recording in?
what mics are you using?

Hi Julián.
:( I actually know nothing about recording drums and I can't play the drums either (I use occasional hand percussion and machines!). I took a listen anyway just out of interest and it does sound like it's been recorded in your bedroom or something.

 BUT, there's something about that snare sound that I really like – it's just quite different to what you normally hear these days and that gives it a nice quality to me, I suppose. If you could get the other drums sorted out, but keep that snare sound, it could be interesting!

My thoughts for what they're worth,
dreamer7 :D
