I put down the Dobro and grabbed my iPhone to record this informal jam session at banjo player Joe Hood's house:

    Bluegrass Jam Session

Five hours of Bluegrass heaven, with 11 top notch Bluegrass musicians (and me).

I'm envious. I wish I'd had a pickin' on Easter. Everybody looked like they were having a great time, and I heard some good notes...especially the guitar solo. Was that Ragtime Annie?

The guitar picking was from Brian Wright - an amazing guitar player from Denton, TX. I don't know the name of the song.

Amazing! I've played guitar forever, but I'm just learning banjo, and this is inspiring.

Plus the banjo player with tattoos on his hand is a bad ass.

    Here's another snippet:

    Bluegrass Jam Session2
The guy playing the blue guitar is Gene Carter, a great bluegrass flatpicker. Banjo is Joe Hood, and the guy between Joe and the bass player is Brian Wright - another incredible bluegrass flatpicker.
