Hi,

I bought a mesa boogie some time ago and I'm having problems with the settings.

Chain:
Gibson Les Paul studio (treble)-- > Mesa Boogie Dual rectifier 3chan 50 watts -->
Marshall 425A 4*12 inch 30watts each--> SM57 --> gyraf gyratec IX --> RME Fireface 800 --> cubase

Amp settings:
Chan 3 modern:
Presence: 13.00
MAster : 11.00
Gain: 10.45

Bass: 9.00
Mid: 9.15
Treble: 14.00

Any help would be appreciated ALOT !!!

From my experience with MB, they take a sh*t load of tweaking, especially the EQ, to get the sound you want. I had a Studio PreAmp for awhile and I loved it after I checked online for some settings others were using.

With that said, what do you think is wrong with the sound? It is somewhat thin, but that's expected since you're using the treble pickup and the treble is at 14.

Mess with the EQ and use both pickups. I think it sounds good though.

Here's what I think. Sounds too fuzzy/dirty. Maybe too much gain. The tone sounds fine but there's a little too much fuzz to me. Other than that I don't really hear anything wrong with it.
