Drum mix help...

Hello everyone...I posted this in recording techniques on accident so sorry about the double post.

Anyway;

This is the drum track for one of our new songs. If you could listen this over and give me some tips on how I can mix it better and use eq and compression more effectively it would be great!

It was made with 7 tracks: Kick (pg52..I know it sucks.), snare (sm57), two overheads (mxl993s), two toms (sm58's) and a room mic (b1 condencer).

Thanks,

James

Sounds like youve used the OHs and hardly used the close mics.
I dont know what styel you are going for, but this sound you ahve could work nice for some DJ Shadow style old school beats.

The bass drum seems almost MIA.
I like the rest.
Is any of this compressed? Are you intending to use any reverb, delay etc?

hmm...what 'bout phase issues on snare drum and overheads? ...
You'll need a lot of work to get that snare singin' ;)

Move that kick drum mic up to that beater head........

I don't really hear much of the close mic'ing either... Especially with the toms, it sounds like the OH mics are picking them up more...
