Dance song

Salut Jack,

Can't comment on the mix because I only have crappy PC speakers at the moment but I have a couple of comments.

I like the groove of this one, reminds me of someone like Falco in the 80's. Like a lot of songs in the 80's, it just sounds like a lot of fun. However, it runs really long I find, it's length makes me feel indifferent to the tune. I'd like to hear an edited version, although I know doing that can be a major pain.

Great Vocal

How's life in Quebec these days??
Now.............................
You need to apply compression to the vocal, try 2:1 for starters.
I use pre sets that are built into Cool Edit Pro.
Vocal compression is what I think you need to bring the vocal to the front while keeping it in the same room as the rest of the instrument.
The rest of the mix seems quite well done.

Catchy song too.

Ans: I'm using a Lexicon MPX signal processor for the vocals. The compression is a 4:1 with 4ms attack and 16ms release. Maybe the threshold is too high ? I will try 3:1 (the Lexicon doesn't have 2:1) but with a lower threshold so the vocal is always in compression mode.

Thanks,

Jack Real
