edit: how it was recorded.
"drums":
kickdrum = a giant pillow hit by a drumstick then squashed w. compression (SM57)
snare = drumsticks clicked together (SM57)
cymbals = a drinking glass hit by a drumstick (SM57)
"guitars"
wide guitar = stereo pair oktava mk012s at hole and 12th
close "solo" guitar = sm57 close mic'ed, mxl990 a few feet back
"Bass"
recorded direct with a sm57 up near the strings to capture the crappy "slap"
"vocals"
sung into a sm57.. moderate compression was used but no effects.. i just ran the levels a little too high
..that pretty much covers all of it, i think.
