Listening to demo 2 now. It's too avant garde to critique, I'd say. It never coalesces into anything resembling a conventional song, so what can we really say about it? You've got a drone, some guy futzing around in a kitchen, and an FX-laden foreign radio station. Cool.

In 2 I like it when the hard panned sounds become rhythmic for a bit. I'd have continued that & developed it. The radio station stuff is there for too long & simply drew me in to try to understand what was being said & removed me from paying attention to the rest of the track.
Hazards. Yep the rhythmic nature of the stuff going on is good. Personally I'd pull back the "snare" a little more to allow the ambience to float a little more.

Ambient music rarely does. It might be cool do meld some heavy ambient with a Pop song, but I don't know how well that would work out...they would be fighting each other, unless you use the ambient stuff just for intro/outro....etc.

    To the OP....

You have a decent start there, but I think you might want to have more elements coming in/out of the backing drone tracks in order to keep people interested, more musical elements mixed win with more found sounds...though maybe some will like the sparseness of the mix.
