2 Metal Instrumentals for your listening pleasure

Hello,

My friend has a few metal songs written, so we sat down and recorded a couple today. They are over at:

www.waffleness.co.uk

They are the songs written by Pete. He played the guitar and wrote them, I recorded and mixed them. One of them has an explosion, which was very satisfying :)! Prelude is a (future) album opener, probably.

Let us know what you think.

These songs sound pretty cool to me. The guitars sound good, and well played, but the drums sound small/weak. I don't know how they were tracked, but I would suggest bringing them up and adding more compression, especially to the snare.

It sounds like a mix between the songs Battery and Fight Fire with Fire. So much so that I felt I knew exactly what was coming up next.

Waffleness,
Re: Prelude
Nice texture development in the intro. The acoustics could use some work in that there were some buzzing notes.
Your parts - I assume everything but the gits - are pretty good.
The song does sound familiar but that's OK.
The explosion works well but I felt it needed something toppy cutting through it like smashing class or similar.
Nice capture.
