hi guys,

I need some suggestions. I finally bought an SPL meter, and I set it up and set up some sine waves in sound forge.

my monitoring system is -14 dbs down at 440 hz.
It is only about 5 hz wide, from 440 to 445, cos it is back up at 445 to normal.

Is this something that needs fixing

Its also down about 7 dbs at 310 hz but comes back up at 315. This bugs me, because 310 is the area of mud.

Is this going to hurt my mixing? What can I do?

thanks and peace

hello,

it's going to be difficult to really determine what's going on analyzing the speaker/room response using sine waves and a SPL meter. maybe consider a program like ETF (www.acoustisoft.com). you can download an almost fully functional version. ETF will give you a much better analysis of your room than what you can get using discrete sine waves.
