I never understood why so many people are so quick to suggest a specific plugin from a $4200 bundle. What makes anyone think that this guy has a Waves bundle?

Because these are folks who haven't paid a dime for software in their lives, as long as there's a keygen on the Internet for it. And if there isn't a keygen for it, then they don't need it.

A simple reply to this: Try before you buy. And that is not bad for my opinion and for many others. I don't think this guy will make money with it right now and i don't think this guy wanna pay 5000$ for the diamond bundle when he doesn't even tryed it before... really not and if one day he does some profit with his music he'll just buy the bundle... i hope.

That's why there's a demo. You can test drive cars without buying them too. If you don't give them back, you stole it.

What the hell does making money with it have to do with anything?

Yes sure you can try something like a demo plugin that beep's every seconds... but it doesn't always do the trick... and the thing about makin money is just not your philosophy maybe but for somes it make sense. Some people won't pay for it anyway and can't afford it and won't use it to pull out big productions that rewards a lot of money. The company doesn't lose money at all and wil probably have a nice clients in the future when the "amateur" will now work on rewarding things and will be able to afford it. Warezed software help people to start out...

that's a way of seeing this and i don't think this is bad.

that is incredibly ignorant to say something like that. You say they're not losing money...then why sell it at all? why not give it away to everyone? You are using something illegally without permission, and contrary to whatever the heck you think is right or not...you are breaking the law and your "philosophy" wont mean a damn thing if you get caught.

ok let's close out this discussion cuz it is going nowhere interresting. I don't mean that it is good to fool companies and use them softwares illegally. I'm just saying that some that does it have a mentality that s not that bad. If the software was free everybody even the big studios wont pay for it. Actually when im saying that "they doesn't lose money" is because those peoples won't pay for the software anyway for the moment... so why the hell a company will lose money becaus someone is trying it in his basement to learn things out considering that this guy won't have buyed it otherless.

a big studio using warezed softwares... that is really bad but i dont feel the same for the kiddie trying to learn this all at home.

sory if i get misunderstood.. i'm french and not very good in english.

what about the "kiddie" who is pirating music at home so he can record his band....which in turn gets him the chance to record other local bands around town when they find out he has a studio in his basement. He's pirated the music, not only effectively stealing from the software company, but also preventing the local studio owners in town from getting the chance to record his band and the a few other bands in town.

not to stray too far from the original topic...and i've been ridiculed before for saying this, but I believe expensive software and software like PT that requires hardware to use it, helps keep the "corporate and non-corporate" audio industry going. We all know the digital evolution has turned the tide on recording studios and a lot of bands are recording out of their homes now. But how many bands are also pirating the software? Sure, many people here probably could give a crap if Sony's studios or Hit Factory closes down because of how big they are.....but what about the smaller studios in your own home town? I know I don't have a Sony or Hit Factory here where I live. It's just a sole proprietorship trying to make a living.

again, this topic has seemed to stray too far from the original post...so continue with your discussion.

We've all already gone round and round on this subject before and I really am not interested in continuing it now.

I just like to make it a point of letting people know that theft is not tolerated on this board - at least not by any of the folks who can post answers that are worth taking the time to read, anyway - and they mostly make sure to "out" the obvious theives and then cut them off.

You want to learn English, BTW, you might start by looking up the word "theft".

It's just as simple as that, no matter what convoluted rationalizations the next spoiled brat comes up with.

Don't take this personal gran pa, theft and jackasses like you aren't tolerated by me too. Did i say'd i was using warezed softwares?? Please think a bit before posting your "so intelligent" reply's in your so beautilful english. I am talking about an opninion not about the fact that i use illegal softwares or not so stop your little menaces. My mpc1000 isn't cracked believe me and im nothing more then a beatmaker. So please stop accusing peoples to be theft when they simply doesn't have the same opinion as the so perfect a** licking guy's like you. And... i don't care of this forum if they are to kick someone out because he have different ideas. May be in your little world... so little... you care about a kiddie "stealing" something that will disturb nobody but i can tell you that on the planet i live that is called earth, the big company's doesn't give a f**k about those kiddies and prefer spending time on some bigger cases.

end of my participation to this ridiculous discussion and 4real.

Nah, I stopped caring about your "opinion" several posts ago, nothing personal taken.

Here's another English phrase for you to look up: "bum's rush".

In that one sentence, you've demonstrated that you know absolutely nothing of the business dynamic in the audio industry. "Kiddies stealing programs" has a HUGE although somewhat "trickle down" effect that has already caused serious damage and will no doubt continue full-bore into the future because of ignorant freaks who don't see further than their own nose.
