I want to create a home studio and this season I want to buy monitors. I have decided to buy the alesis M1 (active), I have heard them and sound pretty well. But I would like to know if they are better than the tannoy reveal or the tannoy system 600. I would be greatful for your opinion and your advice.

I bought the tannoy reveals (passive)recently and i'm very happy with them. I had only compared them to the 20/20s and the alesis monitor 2, though, not the M1. I thought the M1 sounded good, but I had not yet seen any reviews/opinions on them, and i had already waited like 8 months to buy the monitors(with 4 separate trips made to listen to them all)and I wasn't going to leave without making a purchase that day. I may be wrong, but I don't think you're going to go wrong with any of the pieces in the same $ range...it's all about your own aural preference, and then getting used to using them. I have yet to commit to a final mix, but I've immediately noticed a vast sonic improvement in my tracks while commiting them to disc, and I'm hardly reaching for the EQ as much as I used to. Of course, I am just a bug, and don't really know much of these things....
