First set of monitors

I'm looking into buying a set of monitors. I'm currently using Roland MA-8's with the treble and bass both on full. Anyways, I'm looking for something more accurate. I don't have expensive equipment, nor a lot of money. What would you reccomend as monitors? I don't have the money for a set of Genelecs. However, I realize that as with all products quality is money. I want something that is cheap, but if the cheapest wont do me any good, i'll save up more. I'm doing rock music, and I'd like to know how much bass is in the mix. I've seen some in the 300/pair-under range at zzounds.com from Event and M-Audio but with 5" speakers. How are these?

Yorkville YSM1p passive, or active if you can afford a little more. I also hear the Tannoy reveals are decent.

They are both, depending on which one you buy. Get active's if you don't already have an amp.
