Cubase SX - problem with SF DirectX plugins

Howyadoin,

I use Cubase SX as my primary tracking and mixing app. For smaller stuff, I use Sound Forge 6. Cubase allows me to use the Sound Forge DirectX plugins within Cubase, and I like some of them.

My problem is when I use some plugins (Sonic Foundry pitch shift for example) in Cubase the modifications come out like crap, as if the computer was gargling with razor blades, while they sound great if I do them in Sound Forge. I tried loading the .wavs from Cubase directly into Sound Forge and saving them back to Cubase, but this screwed up the timing of the track. I think the bit-depth and sampling rates were set the same in both apps.

Is there a way to improve DirectX plugin performance in Cubase, or should I look into getting VST equivalents?

Is there a easy way to exchange data between Cubase and Sound Forge that won't trash my wavs?

Thanks as always,

I've had similar problems........ unfortunately I've also never found a solution....

My workaround was simply to use the SF plugs I wanted within SF.... (of course, they then become a permanent part of the WAV, as opposed to the fleixbility of being in Cubase's history list, but just make a backup of the raw WAV before applying the plug)......

If you do get a solution, please post it!
