Confused on monitoring

On a message I posted earlier, I stated I was confused on monitor & stereo out. I have a event 20/20 bi power monitor. Do I connect it to the stereo out or the monitor out to hear what I am recording? Then do I hook it up to the stereo out to monitor what I am mixing down? I understand what the two do but what do I use to monitor the initial recording?

What mixer? I would think that no matter how you send the outputs out to the poweramp, the important thing will be how the mixer handles the assigning of different signals, submixes etc..


If you find you are missing a track(s) when mixing down, the signal path is messed up somewhere.

Not sure if I understand the question. Elaborate a bit and maybe I can help more.

Connect the speakers to the MON OUT at all times. The STEREO OUT is for whatever you're mixing down to (cassette, CD-R, computer, etc.).
