New Project By a 16 Year Old

good work for a begginner..on the first beat the kick sounded a lil off beat..try quantizing it..keep up da nice work kid

I found myself waiting for the song to begin in both of them... and then they were over.

The music's fine, I actually like it, but even if I didn't - there really is an audience for everything. I recommend working in some kind of clear transition that gives the listener that "hell yea, now it's on!" feeling. That is absent from both tracks you posted, they seem more like very long intros.

I mean this post in a 100% constructive fashion, so seriously - don't take any offense - I would love to hear you go do this and post back.

Here's some basically random examples of exactly what I mean: (I just typed "hip hop" into youtube's search and picked a couple of the first results)

41 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzeZhCt5PVA
56 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9g2szHsoz0

It's not coincidental that the vocals start at the points I pointed out in most of those songs. I'll elaborate on that in a second, but first, as you can see here:

23 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4InqZVJoJD8 <--Even without vocals, the song clearly starts at 23 seconds. This is important because if there were vocals, they would obviously begin there.

Without knowing your goal with your music, I'll naturally assume you want to do some kind of commercial work and get paid for it - so consider this: 99.9% of *all* commercial songs follow pretty much the exact same layout, which is:
* Intro
* Verse 1
* Chorus
* Verse 2
* Chorus
* Bridge
* (Extended) Chorus / outro.

Seriously - no matter what genre - that *is* the formula and has been since long before you or I were even born. In your songs - I can't find the point that says "hey vocalist - GO!" - so where would the first verse begin?

I hope you find this helpful - Good luck! :D
