When you play an audio CD on Windows Media Player and the track lists show up with all the info about the Cd and even an image of the CD is displayed. How is this done? Is there a special software used while the CD is being mastered to be able to do this?

the info comes from the internet. If your pc isnt connected it you wont get the titles and stuff.I guess it looks at the total time and track number and lengths to determine which cd it is. although I have cds with software on them.

when you put them in your cd-rom it run a little program. like the led zeppelin greatest hits (early days/ latter days) each cd has a music video/concert on it. some cds have pictures and web links and other misc. junk.
