Vegas 4.0 Vs. Cool Edit Pro 2?

Is'nt Vegas geared more towards audio & video combo ?
Where as Cool Edit is more an audio program.

I'd go with Vegas. More intuitive, plus it also happens to be the best video editing app you can get for Windows so you have that option if you ever decide to work with video.

I wouldn't say the best video app...

Premiere would be my first choice.

"Best", as always, is subjective.

Premiere? I never felt comfortable with Premiere, and it always seemed to be a resource hog, at least compared to Vegas. Then, of course its audio tools pale in comparison.

Here's a review of Vegas if anybody's interested. It focuses pretty much just on video however.

Adobe bought CEP, so premiere will have better autio tools sometime.

CEP is very easy to learn, an evening or 2 and you're started. But midi is not much and no VST. If that is important to you.

I agree with this but you can use VST with Cool Edit Pro. All you need is a VST Wrapper but the only downfall is only one at a time.

Cool Edit is way behind in the MIDI game.

I suggest Cool Edit for its price and it is VERY user friendly!
