SPDIF ADAT Interface-setting up clock Source

Hi, just a quick question re clocking. I’ve read a bit but not using SPDIF and ADAT together.

I’ve got some old gear I want to use to record a live band.
I’ve got a Quantum thunderbolt interface, M-Audio ADAT 8 mic pre box (word clock in and out) and an Apogee MiniMe SPDIF (has AES/EBU but no SPDIF inputs).

If I make the SPDIF device the clock source and connect the Quantum Word Clock Out to ADAT word clock in, select clock source in DAW as SPDIF, will this work? Will it be stable?

The path would be SPDIF out to Quantum SPDIF in, Quantum Word Clock out to ADAT device word clock in, Quantum to iMac.

Thanks in advance.

If the Mini Me digital connection is out only then that's really the only way you can connect it as far as I can tell. In theory it should work. Why don't you try it and see?

I'm not sure you'd select the Quantum's clock in the DAW. I'd expect to select it in the interface's driver.

Thanks. Yes you are correct Universal Control for Studio One.
I’ll let you know how I go. I’ve got to get the cables for the clock in and out.
