Seasound "Solo" or Aardvark "Direct Pro 24/96"

Anyone have any thoughts pro or con about the Seasound "Solo" compared to the Aardvark "Direct Pro 24/96"? Anyone use one yet? The Seasound Solo looks to be a pretty competive unit. Basically the same specs and all to the Direct Pro. But a way cooler 2 rack space "breakout" box interface. Plus, it's about a $100 cheaper too. It got a good review in EQ magazine 12/99. Another review will be out in Electronic Musician in March. Your thoughts..........

The solo unit will only record two analog tracks at a time; if you record all 4 inputs at one time, it'll mix it down (via the pan controls) to the two inputs. As well, it only has two mic preamps. Having the external controls would nice... it takes a really well designed software control panel to top real physical controls.

The aardvark will record all four inputs seperately, and it has preamps on all four inputs. All the controls are in software, which allows the use of presets.

Hope this is useful
