Remote control DAWs

Hi, I am new to homerecording.com.

I have a Tascam us-428 that I am trying to use with Nuendo 3 as a remote
DAW.

I had it working until my hard drive died and I had to re-install everything.

Now I cant get the us-428 and the software to sync fully.
I am using win xp.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

I don't know if the us-428 is one of the control devices already identified by Nuendo. Go to Devices (the one at the bottom of the drop down list) and look for remote control. Then hit the '+' sign and you get a drop down of supported controllers.

If yours isn't there, see if you can set up the us-428 in a 'mackie control' or 'hui' mode. Then select that in nuendo.

Otherwise, go to cubase.net and ask in the forum ... or check your tascam forums.

You can build a controller device from scratch in nuendo, but it's a lot of work.

Thanks for the info.

In Nuendo the tascam is a supported controller.
I'm not sure if the problem is with the driver or asio setup.

Wouldn't be the ASIO driver ... that's about your audio. (unless both drivers are packaged together for installation).

There should be some type of midi driver visible for the Tascam when you look in the midi preference window. Do you see that?
