I happen to done this before, but it seems that I forgot how I did it... anyone can help me figure this out?
:)

It kinda depends on your sound card, but in Vegas, on the track you want to record on, you need to choose, for example, M-Audio Monitor Mixer in the case of my Audiophile card. You basically want to record what's going on in Windows, be it what's playing in Winamp, a softsynth, or even that fuckin "un-oh" sound in ICQ. If it's not obvious which input you want to record just keep choosing different ones until the meters start moving.

i tried choosing different sound drivesr: s/pdif, monitor mixer, pcm delta, and my main driver DSG (for windows).. but not em work... :(

Recording source (Volume Controls) should be set to 'Stereo Out' or 'Stereo Mixer' or whatever.

Then play in Winamp and start recording in Vegas.

n-track actually allows you to 'convert' MIDI files to wav, but it does this in exactly the same way, only automated.
