I have a pretty fast computer.

P4 by Dell
512 RDRAM
40Gig hardrive
XP Pro OS

I just installed an aardvard direct pro 24/96 with downloaded drivers (Beta5)...worked fine.
I installed the bundled Pro Audio 9, and my computer was crawling...couldn't even log off. Ha to shut down manually.
I then uninstalled Pro Audio 9, and everything works fine.
Want to reinstall and try again and try changing the properties my right clicking on Pro 9 to load up as NT.
Will this work?

I am pretty new to this, so I am suspecting that I am missing the obvious.

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

Dunno. You would have to ask Cakewalk for that answer.

My understanding is that Cakewalk is (understandably) putting their programming resources into Sonar, and therefore they are not really supporting PA9 any longer.

You might also try posting the question on the Pro Audio newsgroup to see if anyone is successfully running it on XP. You can get the signup info for the newsgruop here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/newsgroups.html

This is a valuable resource if you plan on using PA9 (which I guess you don't if you can't get it running on XP :) )
