Hi,
I'm looking for clean-sounding interface to USB from 2 condenser mics (48v phantom power needed) miking quiet, fingerstyle guitar playing. Hoping to avoid separate preamps for simplicity, and to do all effects/mixing with software. I'd be happy to get away with a $100 toy if it actually works well, but not if it sacrifices anything important. I'm really not likely to end up wanting anything more than two lines in, or anything fancier than two channels of clean signal to the computer. (So I assume my real attention and bucks, equipment-wise, should be spent on mics, monitors, and room.)
Among the options I see mentioned are:
Is there any kind soul who knows this stuff who will be patient with somebody who is hopelessly lost in the zillions of threads found with the search function? Are these interfaces suitable and pretty much equivalent for my needs, or are there important diffrerences I need to focus on? Am I on completely the wrong track?
Many thanks,
Mark
