Old/free vst and Windows 7/cubase 5?

Hello,
I'm thinking of upgrading my studio fr.o.m. Cubase sx3 to cubase 5 and at the same time upgrade my Windows xp to Windows 7. My question now is: if I do this will my collection of old and free vst-plugins work?? (kjaerhus free series, project-x etc..) I also wonder if the two plugins that I have bought would work, (psp vintage warmer 2 + nomad factory rock amp legends).
Or maybe, would you all recomend me to follow my current attitude: "if it's working do not change it"...

Yours,
babybottle

I imagine they'd work just fine. Windows is still Windows even if it's updated. I would like to know for myself. I'm saving up for a new computer.

Yes I would believe just as you say that they would work when talking about .dll plugins. I am mord in doubt about .exe-plugins... That's is why I asked.... Anyone out there with other opinion/experiencies???

Hmm... I have an m-audio (7.1) for ordinary computer computer use and for my studio i have a FireWire card in the onyx...

the vst spec has been upgraded since your first cubase... ya might want to check at the official site but i've read of people having to jump through hoops to get it to run old vsts on new app... can be done but takes some doing... try cubendo.com ...
