Use these instructions for your driver update. Its a pain in the ass, but it should work.
1.) Download the v4.1.22.38 Multiclient driver to your hard drive from the
web site at (
www.midiman.net) and the New Un-installer Tool.
From there unzip the Multiclient .38 driver to a floppy disc and store
until you are ready to install it. Store the Un-installer on your hard
drive for when you need it. Or also copy it over to yet another floppy
disc. You will not have to unzip the un-installer just copy it over and
store it until you need it.
2.) Remove the current driver from Sound Video and Game Controllers within
the Device Manager.
3.) Run the un-installer.
4.) Do a search for *delta*.* Make sure that your system is set up first.
Double click on "MY computer"
go to "VIEW"
go to "FOLDER OPTIONS"
click on the "VIEW" tab
make sure "show all files" is checked
make sure "Hide extensions" is unchecked. Close out.
Now do a "find" ("Start"/"Find/Files and Folders") for *delta*.* Make sure
you are searching your local hard disk c: drive.
Remove all files found there:
Delta_w0.drv, Delta_w1.drv, Delta_w2.drv, Delta_w3.drv, , Delta_w5.drv,
Delta_w6.drv, Delta_wa.drv, Deltacpl.cpl, Deltampu.drv, Deltapnl.exe,
Deltasio.dll, Delteasi.dll, Ma_delta.dll, Ma_delta.inf, Ma_delta.vxd.
You might not have all of these files but delete the files you do have.
5.) Now do this same search for "oem*.inf" on your machine.
This file will come up: oem0.inf. If it is there take it out. If not then
you already got it. Be very careful you do not want to delete an oem that
is not Midiman M Audio. You can double click the file name and it should
open as a note pad. Please read to confirm Midiman M Audio to be sure.
6.) Now you are clean. Shut Down Do Not Restart.
7.) Take the Delta card out of the system. Remove the PCI card.
8.) Reboot without the card. Wait until the desktop is restored completely
to win98 desktop.
9.) Now Shut the system down completely again. Do NOT restart.
10.) Re-install the Delta card. Reboot.
11.) Re-load the v4.1.22.38 driver from the floppy disc.
12.) Now immediately go to Add/Remove Programs off the windows control
panel and Un-install Cubase.
