Multi-track recording using Audacity?

So I have a firewire 1620i Mackie Onyx mixer. I need to record multi-track (at least 8 channels at a time). I have Audacity, Garage Band, and Adobe Soundbooth at my disposal. Soundbooth recognized the mixer, and Audacity recognized all 16 channels of the mixer. Haven't tested GarageBand yet. I'd like to use Audacity with this mixer, but it seems I can only record one track at a time in Audacity. If I'm tracking drums (home studio) I need to track all 8 channels together. Anyone know if Audacity can do this? And if not, does anyone know an affordable DAW I could get that would be capable of doing this? I've heard great things about Reaper.

Audacity is almost useless for multi-track recording.

You want to record, use a professional DAW - Reaper's fine and cheap, there are others. Audacity has its uses but multi-tracking ain't one of them.
