Motu UltraLite

Both can be active at the same time, but the knob controls one at a time. On my Traveler, if you press the Volume knob it switches from Main Mix to heaphones control. I'm pretty sure the Ultralite is the same.

They take separate signals from separate output channels. You'll need to configure your software to send signals to multiple outputs. I don't use Sonar, but it probably has some way to add a second output bus or something.
 
In MOTU Cuemix, just tell the headphones to follow the active mix. You can set them up to follow any outputs and control their volume seperately.
 
I completely forgot about that on screen mixer! I am brand new to this type of recording (Newbie)..
