I have been out of the music game for a few years and I am coming back into it and need advice. I write electronic music but not with computers, i use drum machines synths etc. I used to have a MOTU MK3 when I was recording before and I am wanting to record again. I do not want a pure interface this time. I want a mixer with a interface. I am looking at the studiolive 16.0.2, 16.4.2, and the mackie 1640i currently. I have around a 1000 dollar budget. I will be using very minimal vst synths if any at all. A big feature that I want is the ability to put vst effects on aux sends. I have found enough info on the mackie to know this can be done. I am not sure about both studiolive boards. I will not be using the mic pres as my gear is line in, maybe one for vocals at most. Can I get some recommendations and info if the studiolives can have vst effects on the aux sends? Thanks.
