Interesting thing happened on rendering

Rendered a mix (in Reaper) to 24 bit, as I always do, to then 'master' it in a separate project. Inserted the media file, hit play and I hear a phone ring before the music starts! Not my phone either! I certainly had not heard it when mixing, but went back and soloed all active tracks and there was no phone sound in any of them. Re-rendered, and that file was fine (no phone ring).
Somehow my system picked up a digital signal during rendering? I'm in a new place, and lots of neighbors, so have just started recording here. Hope this is not something I need to listen for on a regular basis. I don't really get any actual noise from adjoining apartments.
 
Wonder if someone's cordless phone is somehow sending out a signal getting picked up by my system. New interface on its way this week, Scarlett 8i6.
