Iam looking at getting this tower for a computer for my project studio http://www.soyo.com.tw/products/proddesc.php?id=216 its only 99 bucks canadian

. Iam trying too go kindof cheap but I don't want a useless system.. Iam gonna buy a copy of samplitude and I think go with a Delta 1010lt soundcard . Iam gonna get a 2400 or a 2500 amd processor and I already have a 100 gb 7400 hd . and another 80 gig 5400 for apps .. and Iam gonna start with only 512 ram is that bad?

just wondering if I should even waste my money

edit : the tower Iam looking at is DDR ram but nothing else different I think might be wrong tho

I'm not sure how I found this today, but the following article has a tower that is recommended that can be found at US$30.

I guess if you're gonna build a PC, you might as well build a quiet PC.

edit: Whoops, nevermind. that thing comes motherboard included. Guess that link won't help.

I don't like VIA chipsets.
My experience with them has been less than memorable.

Others have had good results, so who knows.

All I know is that your motherboard is the key to recording nirvana. I have just built a daw on an Asus P4P800 and for the money you won't get better or more reliable

I had some bad experiences with a SOYO board and converted to an ASUS. I have two computers now with ASUS boards and they both work fine, one of them is for my PT LE set-up with a Digi 001. I think that the Intel chipset does make a big difference, at least in my case.

If you stick with the Intel chipset, you will still be able to run Samplitude and have the option to run the Digi products if you ever decide that is the way you want to go.
