fixing the driveDproblem now i face a new one

my Ddrive has been noisy so i reformatted it
now it seemed fine except that CDrom drive which is now driveE
is not stable anymore
it can be seen and read for a while after that it will disappear
again and again
Is this becos of Ddrive ?
i been worried becos the CDrom drive is CDR too
This may cause lot of bad disks writing?
anyone know how to fix it?
or should i go back removing Dout ?

mmmmm......recording and soundcards...does'nt sound related...
But anyway, did you just install this drive or was it exsiting?
Could be an IRQ problem. Or your CD drive is taking a dump

I dont see how reformatting your D drive would create a problem with your CD drive.
Perhaps its just coincidence that your CD drive is going bad at the same time you did this reformat.
But Im not a computer geek or engineer, Im just taking I wild guess:confused:
 
When a drive is disappearing it is usually a cable problem. Either the IDE cable or the jacks on the drive or mobo. Try a new IDE cable and see if that helps. If not than the drive or mobo is the culprit.
