EQ options for Pro Tools

Well, I've just made the transition to a Digi002 and the computer from hell, and the learning curve begins in earnest now. My first impression is that evrybody who knows anything about anything seems to think that T-Racks sucks big time as an EQ plugin. I'm looking at suggestions for cheap alternatives here, whether plugin or hardware. It seems to me that after your monitor chain, EQ is the heart and soul of good mixing, but we really have shot our wad here, and big bucks won't be available for some time. Suggestions?-Richie
 
Aren't there EQ's from digidesign in the OO2?

Anyway, the Waves Q eQ's aregreat, but a bit pricyy though
 
The Digidesign EQ is *3* bands. T-Racks is included, but gets the big thumbs down from a bunch of people whose opinions I respect. 3 bands is way short of a mixing tool. 24 bands would be a minimum. And I don't care if it's parametric, graphic, or virtual, as long as it is accurate and sounds good.-Richie

The Wave Arts stuff is decent, plus there's a 30 day demo.

The PSP EQ has not yet been released for RTAS, but there other stuff is nice. It might be worth the wait.

You can purchase certain single (unbundled) plugs from Waves. The Q10 ($150) and Rennaissance EQ ($200) are available directly from Waves.

Before you buy anything, you need to check out McDSP stuff. Spendy, but superb:

I would demo all this stuff before amking any decision. Your EQ plug in(s) will be a very important part of your DAW.
