I,m looking for advice. I record live instruments into a mixing desk into an old PC (2 Ghz,about 500 meg ram,Windows XP) Using rack mounted FX,compressor etc. I started out with a Tascam 38 8 track open reel. I loved it;press a button easy. But I,m sure I,m not the first in finding the tape too expensive,and the setting up etc impracticle.
Therefor I,m looking for a DAW that has at 4- 8 I/O s capability,so I can record/monitor/Solo via cans but wont hopefully need to get a new PC.
I currently use Cakewalk MC3,find it easy to use,but it doesnt have enough I/O.s. any advice would be much appreciated,Thanks,Andy.
