Hey all. Im getting a bunch of recording equipment in the next week and ive come down to my last part of research which is what specs do i look for in a computer. Im looking to spend around 500 or 600 on a computer.

my basic setup is a fostex vm200 mixer and a Terratec EWS88D.
from that information, can you please help me as to what specs i should have. for example if i were to get this computer http://store.yahoo.com/cyberpower/amdattbirspe1.html
what should i get to be compatible with that mixer and card. thanks a lot

I would change the motherboard and get a faster hard drive, 5400 isn't good for audio.

And you'd also want to get an additional fast HD.

I would probably spend extra and upgrade the HD to a 7200rpm drive and then add another 7200rpm drive. Two would be better. But if you keep only one hard drive then definetly spend the money and get a faster one.

Falopo - 256 MB RAM isn't exactly smoking either. It takes 256 just to run XP at a decent level. If you start getting into hardcore programs, you are going to need at least 512.
