Computer 4 track

Hello. I am a guitarist looking for a 4 or 8 track to record my music. I have been deciding what format to use and now I am thinking turning of my computer into a digital multitrack recorder. I assume all I would need for this is a special sound board, and large HD, and some mixing software. I am looking to spend as little money as possible.

Well, you're right. So prowl around the main site (see the pages listed in the announcement on the top of the main page of this forum) and do a search here on whatever you're looking for, and you'll learn quite a bit.
