CDR's advertised as audio compared to less expensive ones, question

I notice that there are certain cdr disks that are advertised as audio cdr's, then there are the other ones that just say cdr on the package, the ones that I always have got, and usually go on sale somewhere for free every now and then. The audio ones are more expensive.
What are the differences between the two?

Physicly they're the same except the CD-RA's have the SCMS bit (Seriel Copy Management System) preburned onto them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can use only "audio" CDR's in standalone burners (like with your stereo). The burner is looking for the SCMS code which isn't on the "data" CDR's. This only applies to the consumer burners, not the "pro" burners where you pay extra just to get around the SCMS. Me? I just get the cheapest ones I can, preferably without the writeable surface. Nothing to show through the label. Bought 400 of them from Office Max about 2 months ago for $10 total after rebates.
