can spdif optical feed correctly into a ADAT optical?

So, quick question.

Say I've got a motif rack w/ optical spdif (stereo) outs and I want to pipe it into my RME 96/52 card w/ only ADAT optical ins.

Can these two work together in harmony?

Won't work... ADAT Lightpipe I/O will not read S/PDIF....... no way around it unless you put a Lightpipe<-->S/PDIF converter between them (Mutec makes a decent one).......

I thought so, just wondering if someone knew for sure.

I'm using the analog outs and it seems to be okay.

I have another machine w/ spdif optical that I'll use in conjunction w/ the motif rack.
